Back in Business!!!

The thing with the Summer is that I have always loved warmer temperatures, but the weather that we've been having across the DC area this year has been sweltering. I mean it could be worse, in Arizona I saw that it reached near 120 degrees a few weeks ago. (Hell to the Naw!!!) So now that's is officially August, I'm sure this 90+ degree weather will stick around, but at the same time Autumn is just around the corner. Not a big fan of that particular season, but it's a whole lot better than the Winter.

Many things start in August that make it such a transitional period. There's football, (again, not a fan) and of course many schools will be starting back up. I hope one day in the next year or so, I can further my education and get my Master's in Non Profit Management, but this is a work in progress.

Speaking of work, I am elated to announce that I finally have a new job that I will be starting next week. The name of the organization is the American Legacy Foundation and I will be a Grants Assistant. I am extremely excited about starting this new venture in my life, and I hope that this next chapter will be an interesting journey to getting to where I need to in my life.

So you know what I will be doing the next few days. Not only getting myself back in the habit of gwtting up in the morning, but also celebrating in the best ways that I know how. I am defitnitly grateful for this opportunity. I cannot believe that this has been the first summer since I graduated high school 10 years ago that I've had a "Summer Vacation" I was unemloyed, but it didn't necessary feel like I was. Maybe because I wasn't stressed out about it and I planned ahead? It was also fun to do the things I hadn't done in a long time because of a job, such as go to midnight openings of some really good movies, and go to Six Flags in NJ for a day during the middle of the week. I also felt that with my patience and perserverance, not to mention the encouragement of many people, that something would come along soon enough.

Thanks Dayne

Kensilo, Thanks & Autumn is cool, but I'm more of a Spring Person, But both are better than winter or summer, lol

Even though I don't suffer from allergies, the weather is much cleaner in the Fall.

YAY!! Congrats on the new job. I always get excited when people continue in non-profit. It's such a touch industry. And your in Grants Management to boot?!? The grants assistant (well, we call her data management specialist...everyone's a damn specialist at my office..lol) has sooooo much to do.

As for the summer...I HATE it. I can't wait to see it go. I'm much more of a fall/winter guy. I've already started buying new pieces from my favorite stores' fall collections. I can't wait!

Congrats again!

Yay!!! Thank you Mr. Jones. I love the non profit world, it's unpredictable but very satisfying as well.
